The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag strip at World Wide Technology Raceway recently underwent a repave of the racing surface. Racers participating in this weekend’s test n’ tune and Carl’s Four Wheel Drive and Performance Center Bracket Series events will christen the track this Friday through Sunday.
World Wide Technology Raceway, with guidance from NHRA and leading motorsports racing surface consultants, completed the project on Thursday, July 18. Christ Brothers Asphalt, Inc., who also repaved the WWT Raceway oval track in 2017, used a specialty blend of polymers and aggregate designed to maximize track preparation and withstand the demands of 335 plus mile per hour Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars.
The WWT track crew, following an inspection and consultation by Total Venue Concepts (TVC), have been preparing the new surface for its debut on Friday.
