World Wide Technology Raceway Announces Start Times for Bommarito Automotive Group 500 NTT Indycar Series Weekend 

New race date, new broadcast partner and expanded entertainment line-up culminate with Father’s Day showdown in St. Louis Metro East 

MADISON, Ill. – To kick-off the 125 days to green countdown, World Wide Technology Raceway has released the schedule of on-track racing action for the 9thAnnual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline.  The event, which has traditionally been held in late summer, now moves to Sunday, June 15, 2025, for a special Father’s Day Weekend celebration that includes action for the NTT INDYCAR Series, INDY NXT presented by Firestone and the United States Auto Club (USAC) Silver Crown Series.  

Saturday, June 14 includes three rounds of NTT INDYCAR Series practice and one hour of qualifying on the 1.25-mile oval. Father’s Day Sunday, June 15, will feature defending race winner, and five-time Bommarito 500 Champion, Josef Newgarden seeking to continue his dominance of WWT Raceway in his Team Penske Chevrolet. He will be challenged by the top drivers in open wheel racing including defending three-time NTT INDYCAR Series Champion Alex Palou, Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal, Andretti Global’s Colton Herta and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Alexander Rossi. 

The Bommarito Automotive Group 500, which will be the first oval event to follow this year’s INDY 500, has garnered legendary status for competitiveness and high-intensity racing in the eight previous editions.  The 2024 event featured a total of 676 passes, 254 for position, 115 passes inside the top 10, 44 passes inside the top 5, 21 lead changes and 11 different drivers leading throughout the 260-lap event. The race will be nationally televised on FOX with a start time of 2 p.m. Central.  

Joining the NTT INDYCAR Series will be the INDY NXT Series presented by Firestone. The series is the final step of the developmental ladder to the NTT INDYCAR Series and showcases young talent such as 2024 Champion Louis Foster and former NASCAR Truck Series driver Hallie Deegan.  INDY NXT will include practice and qualifying on Saturday with a 75-lap main event beginning at 11 a.m. Central time on Sunday.  

The USAC Silver Crown Series returns to their fastest track on the series for a complete show that features practice, qualifying and main event crammed into an action-packed Saturday.   Defending race-winner Dakoda Armstrong will face-off against 8-time series Champion Kody Swanson in the ‘The Route 66 Centennial Classic presented by Welsch Heating and Cooling.”   The 66-lap event, which is part of Discover Downstate Illinois Tourism’s Celebration of 66 Festival, will take the green flag at 8 p.m. and will be followed by a choreographed fireworks show following the checkered flag.  

Race fans will also be able to see exhibition runs by classic race cars of yesteryear from the Vintage Indy Registry on both Saturday and Sunday as well as midway entertainment, five concerts, a car cruise and driver autograph sessions for all three series. 

Tickets are on sale now and special pre-season ticket offers will continue through this Sunday, Feb. 16. The WWT Raceway ticket office is open daily Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. or purchase online at WWTRaceway.com.

4:45 – 5 p.m.:                    NTT INDYCAR High Groove Practice Group A 

5 – 5:15 p.m.:                    NTT INDYCAR High Groove Practice Group B 

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.:             NTT INDYCAR Final Practice (60 minutes) 

7:45 p.m.:                           USAC Driver Introductions 

8 p.m.:                                 USAC Silver Crown – ‘Route 66 Centennial Classic presented by Welsch Heating and Cooling’  – 66 laps/82.5 miles 

9  p.m.:                                 Fireworks            

Sunday, June 15
