World Wide Technology Raceway 2025 Drag Strip Schedule Announced

The NHRA Midwest Nationals headlines more than 70 days of racing.

MADISON, Ill.- Officials from World Wide Technology Raceway today announced the official 2025 drag strip schedule for the St. Louis Metro East based multi-purpose facility. More than 70 days of drag racing are planned and are headlined by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Midwest Nationals on Sept. 26-28.

The NHRA sanctioned facility will also showcase multiple large scale specialty events including the 30th Anniversary of The Million Dollar Drag Race, the Twin-50’s, NDRL Nostalgia Series and two separate Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event weekends. In addition, the track will continue hosting the popular street-legal Midnight Madness series, a track championship for bracket racing and heads-up, full-bodied street car racing.

“We are proud to announce a full schedule of racing activity that features something for every drag racing enthusiast,” said Chris Blair, WWT Raceway’s Executive Vice President and General Manager. “From entry level street-legal racing of Midnight Madness to grassroots sportsman racing to 330 mile-per-hour Top Fuel Dragsters, we have something for everyone during the 2025 season.”

The NHRA Midwest Nationals will return to WWT Raceway with three action-packed days of nitro powered action including a return of Friday night qualifying under the lights. WWTR is the 17th stop on the official NHRA 2025 schedule and serves as a critical point in the Countdown to the Championship for both Nitro and Pro Stock drivers. In 2024, Tony Schumacher, Jack Beckman, Dallas Glenn and Gaige Herrera earned wins that dramatically impacted the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Championship final standings. Along with the four professional categories, the Midwest Nationals also showcases Pro Mod, Top Sportsman, Factory X and will serve as the final event of the Factory Stock Showdown championship.

While WWT Raceway is known for the professional competition of the Midwest Nationals, the track will make history in 2025 as the first venue to host two divisional championship events from two separate NHRA geographical regions in the same season. The NHRA’s West Central Division (Division 5) will make its debut at WWT Raceway for a double-header weekend of two Lucas Oil Championship Series events to run April 30-May 3.

NHRA’s North Central Division (Division 3) returns the weekend after the Midwest Nationals for an event that has held the title as NHRA’s largest sportsman event Sept. 30-Oct. 3. The weekend begins with a three-day Lucas Oil divisional championship event that concludes on Thursday, Oct. 1.  On Friday, Oct. 2 the final Lucas Oil Regional for the Midwest kicks off with qualifying for 270 mile-per-hour Top Alcohol Dragster and Injected Nitro Dragsters. In 2024, this event featured more than 1,500 entries and participants from 40 states and six countries.

Specialty races return with the Twin 50’s, the 30th Million Dollar Drag Race, two appearances by Import Face-Off, the Nostalgia Drag Racing League and the NHRA Super Quick Series.

Local events resume on March 21 with Midnight Madness presented by Ranken Technical College and fueled by Nos Energy Drink. A total of nine Madness events that feature street-legal drag racing and drifting will be held during the 2025 season. The WWT Raceway NHRA National Bracket Racing championship qualifiers begin with a double-header weekend on April 5.

The 2025 schedule is subject to change and additions will be updated on WWTRaceway.com as well as through the track’s social media platforms.
