USAC Silver Crown will race during Bommarito Automotive Group 500 INDYCAR weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway on June 14, 2025
MADISON, Ill. (March 25, 2025) – The United States Auto Club (USAC) Silver Crown Series will take on the paved oval at World Wide Technology Raceway on June 14, 2025, for the Route 66 Centennial Classic Presented By Ranken Technical College and Welsch Heating & Cooling. The 66-lap event will take place during the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 NTT INDYCAR SERIES weekend and will be part of Discover Downstate Illinois Tourism’s Celebration of 66 Festival.
“Watching the Silver Crown cars at WWTR is some of the most exhilarating racing we have all year across our 90+ National events. It’s the only race all year to get to see these cars race that way – using the draft, reaching insane speeds, and trying to find a way to get it turned around to go the other way with no downforce. You can almost see them holding their breath and gritting their teeth from the stands,” said USAC’s Kirk Spridgeon.
The 1.25-mile oval remains as the fastest and largest track on the 2025 Silver Crown schedule, and the St. Louis Metro-East based facility has recorded numerous track and USAC Silver Crown records. An action-packed Saturday is guaranteed as Silver Crown takes the track for practice at 9:15 a.m., qualifying at 1:05 p.m. and the main event on Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

As part of the Celebration of 66 Fest, 66 laps will be raced instead of the usual 60, and the race distance will be increased to 82.5 miles. With the Celebration of 66, a musical line-up of Sponge, Cracker and Soul Asylum will perform throughout the high-speed INDYCAR weekend. Your race ticket also serves as your concert ticket, so no additional purchase is necessary to see these 90’s rock legends.
Following an action-packed day that includes practice and pole qualifying for both the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDYNXT Presented by Firestone Series, the USAC Silver Crown main event will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. Immediately following the checkered flag, fans will be treated to a performance by American rock-band Cracker. A spectacular firework show will end the night at 9:30 p.m. with a variety of colors illuminating the night sky.
In 2024, Dakoda Armstrong came out on top after qualifying fourth and leading 42 of the 60 laps. However, a win seemed almost guaranteed for eight-time series champion Kody Swanson who was leading from laps 42-58, but his chance to win came to an end with two laps left of the 60-lap race when Swansons engine went up in smoke in Turn 3.

While Swanson’s race did not go as planned, he still managed to break records, that were previously set by him in 2022, during the Honest Abe Roofing Qualifying session. A WWT Raceway track record was broken by Swanson’s run of 30.239 seconds and a new speed record average of 148.814 mph was recorded for USAC Silver Crown.
USAC Silver Crown and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES are guaranteed to bring high-speed action to WWT Raceway once again in 2025. For tickets to see these high-horsepower events, please visit our website at wwtraceway.com or call our ticket office at (618) 215-8888 Ext. 1.
