MADISON, Ill. (May 16, 2025) – The Nostalgia Drag Racing League (NDRL) is back in 2025 with more cars than ever before and their opening weekend will take place at World Wide Technology Raceway on May 23-24 with the Route 66 Rockabilly Rod Reunion Driven by KSHE-95.
With WWT Raceway hosting NDRL’s season opener, the weekend will feature Pro 7.00, Pro 7.50, Pro-Comp, Pro- Gas and Modified Production, and Nostalgia Super Stock joins the NDRL in 2025. Straight Axle Mafia will also attend the weekend as their Gasser Hot Rods will take the track.
As part of the NDRL weekend, nitro racing will tear down the quarter mile drag strip as Mike Taylor’s Blue Collar Top Fuel dragster will go head-to-head with Bob Malloy in the Beedy & Malloy nitro front engine dragster. Dragsters are not the only nitro-powered action on the strip, Greg Jacobsmeyer All-Star Dodge Funny Car will race Levi Keenen’s Illinois Thunder Funny car. Nitro match races are set to take the track at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The weekend will host a variety of racing and events such as a bracket race exclusive to 1979 and older racers. A car cruise for 1985 and older classic cars will also be featured with the Belleville Gear Jammers Car Club from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Entry is free to the driver of the car.
The action heats up with a flame throwing contest where each car will make two hits. The first hit will be during pre-race and the second will be before finals. Two $250 cash prizes will be rewarded to who the fans decide is the best non-injected and injected.
This full day of racing is priced for spectators at $30 for adults, $15 for students and kids 12 and under get in free. You can also save $5 by purchasing in advance via TIXR. In addition to general admission tickets, trackside tailgate ($50) and trackside camping ($100) upgrades are available.
