MADISON, Ill. (July 14, 2025) – The under-the-lights racing on July 12 with the VP Racing Lubricants WWTR N/T Racers and Bikes Showdown at Sundown brought the heat as the staging lanes were packed and drivers pushed their cars to the limits. The night was complemented by an evening Test ‘n’ Tune to get the night rolling. Qualifying kicked off at 8 p.m. for the track to be in optimal racing conditions due to the summer heat.
Caleb Cox in the ’11 Mustang continued to dominate in this heads-up, no-cap Gangsta 28’s class. Cody Fleming secured the runner-up spot in this category, and the racer went on to donate his winnings back tothe program. Caleb has been having a dominating year in Gangsta 28’s class, can anyone stop him at the next one?
Small Tire Limited continued to show out with the 4.80 index being drawn out of the three possible chips – 4.80, 5.00, and 5.20. This index made the competition extremely tricky, but it was Brad West who came out on top ahead of Matt Phillips.

The popular moving index, Street Car Class packed the pits once again where the category was split into four groups for racing. The winners for the category had new winners and familiar winners.
Group A was a battle of the Mustangs when Kyle “Gator” Ciborowski in his ’06 Mustang faced off against Connor Wilson in his ’17 Mustang. Ciborowski ultimately took the now back-to-back victory over Wilson in a tough battle.

In the Group B finals, Brendon Turley in a ’99 Camaro battled Mike Smith in a ’17 Challenger. Turley and his Camaro pushed forward for the win over Smith and his Challenger.
Group C’s drivers continue to heat up as Ed Miller made it to his second finals at WWT Raceway when he went up against Bob Ruppel. In this battle between Miller’s ’92 Truck and Ruppel’s ’72 Nova, it was Ruppel who came out victorious.

The Street Car Class was rounded out by Group D when Shaun Manley and Adam Hicks went head-to-head. The class finished when Manley in his ’18 Mustang took the finish line ahead of Hicks in his ’19 Hellcat.

The final no time class was finalized Jon Miller put his ’14 Mustang ahead of Jonathan Foster’s ’72 Datsun in the final run of the stick shift class.

From four wheels down to two, the bike classes showed out and Brandon Childress aimed for a double up in the Phil’s Plumbing/Plumbers & Gasfitters Local 360 Street ET and the Garrison Security Group 8.90/9.20 Challenge. Ultimately, he came in as the runner-up for the 8.90/9.20 Challenge where he was beat by Jaylen Burris. While Childress was knocked out in the semifinals of the Street ET, Scott Leaonard came out above DeAndre Lewis in the finals.

The next race in this exciting program is just under two weeks away on July 26 and will follow same schedule as the July 12 weekend: gates open at 5 p.m., open TNT at 7 p.m. and Q1 at 8 p.m. due to the summer heat to get best track. The NHRA Speed4All Challenge, featuring the coveted NHRA Wally will be featured at the Aug. 15 race for all the N/T Classes.
