MADISON, Ill. (Jan. 7, 2026) – The popular Heads-Up race program, previously known as the WWTR N/T Racers, returns in 2026 as the Gateway Heads-Up Mafia with exciting new changes for the season at World Wide Technology Raceway. The returning program is designed for race cars at all levels with pro-tree, heads-up style competition. No street/hard tires are permitted.
New updates for 2026 include Gangsta 28’s offering a first-round buybacks, and Small Tire Limited adopting the popular 5.30 index with a random chip draw. As the program has continued to grow, so has the streetcar class. There are now three set 1/4-mile caps: 8.60 Outlaw Street, 9.50 Street Warrior and 10.75 Real Street classes.
Additional changes for the season include the addition of two new 1/8-mile index classes, 6.0 and 7.0, with no tire size limitations. The program will also add 7.90 Jr. Dragsters along with two motorcycle classes.
The seven events of the 2026 season will feature both day and night races for optimal track conditions as summer temperatures rise. In late October, the program will host a two-day event featuring the coveted NHRA Wally for the Gangsta 28’s, Small Tire Limited, Outlaw Street, Street Warrior and Real Street classes.
Each event includes cash buy ins, and cash payouts. Tech cards will be available in advance on Pit Pay or available for purchase at the gate.
