Class Racers Revival at WWTR moved to October 3

New October 3 race date allows drivers the opportunity to tow to the track once and compete in four separate events

July 18, 2023, St. Louis – The Class Racers Revival drag racing event, scheduled for August 4-6 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois, has been moved to Tuesday, October 3.

The one-day event will take place between WWTR’s NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series Midwest Nationals and NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series’ “double divisional.” This affords racers the ability to tow once to WWTR and compete in four separate events (from September 29 to October 7).

CRR’s new date will include additional classes not originally scheduled on the old date.

Classes include:

  • Stock Eliminator
  • Super Stock
  • Super Gas
  • Super Comp
  • Competition Eliminator
  • Top Sportsman
  • Top Dragster

Each class will award a custom CRR trophy, Happy Gilmore-style big check and substantial purse money. Most categories will feature $10,000 to win; Top Sportsman and Top Dragster will pay $5,000 to win.

Competitors and crew members also will enjoy a racer appreciation party and dinner on Tuesday evening as well.

Main event sponsors include: Elite Motorsports LLC, Maddox Motor Co., Patterson Elite, Dupps Family Racing, Legacy Heating and Air, On the Stop WorkShop, and Wagner’s Classic Cars.

More information – including entry fees and schedule – will be released soon. Visit Class Racers Revival at: https://racederbycity.com/class-racer-revival/.

“By moving this unique event from August to October, we can offer racers a potential nine days of racing while having to tow to the track only once,” said WWTR Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair. “This exciting event will add even more racing and purse money to an already-busy week.”

“I’ve been attending NHRA events for as long as I can remember,” said TB Promotions’ Tyler Bohannon. “The style of racing is still very special to me. To be able to collaborate with the North Central division and fit our program into a busy week feels like a big accomplishment. This nine-day stretch at WWTR could be the wildest, most action-packed week of sportsman drag racing that’s ever been seen. Big payouts, big Wallys and big stages.”
