Welcome back to the World Wide Technology Raceway Carl’s Four Wheel Drive and Performance Center Bracket Series race 1 and 2!!! Mother Nature had us on pins and needles all week after she sent us rain and severe weather all week. Just as our weekend arrived, the weather broke, the sun shined, and the air got crisp and cool. All those fire breathing engines were ready to set new all-time records and gain some of those all-new Brad Cannon inspired personal best stickers and those new WWT Raceway Perfect Light stickers. The winners were also treated in 2026 to the all-new Happy Gilmore oversized checks to show off their great accomplishment. It looks like a great year in 2026 at WWT Raceway.

This weekend was action packed with all three of the 2025 major track category champions starting out their new year with a win. We also had the very coveted King of the Arch program contested after being bumped at last year’s national event that had gotten bumped due to time constraints. Our weekend event was packed, Super Pro saw a full field with six staging lanes full of competitors to take advantage of the new higher payouts WWT Raceway had announced for higher car counts for 2026. The other class fields were all equally packed as well. The weekend also saw WWT Raceway’s trial run of the new later Saturday start and early Sunday program. It seemed like racers had strong opinions one way or another about that, but the great news is we were able to get all of our racing in and completed for bracket races one and two and here are those stories!!!

King of the Arch and King of the Track

King of the Arch is not a big money race but don’t let it fool you. These racer Kevin Corzine created King of the Arch trophies are highly coveted by the racers here at WWT Raceway.

The Super Pro finals this year featured perennial favorite Angelo Belosi taking the win over lightning-fast dragster drive Brian Cook. Belosi was .007 on the tree to Cooks .010. These guys were revved up.

The Pro Class featured a father/son dual as John Ratulowsi took on his son Danny Ratulowski. In the end, John took the starting line advantage over Danny and rode that out to secure the win.

The VP Racing Lubricants Sportsman Class saw Brad Kaemmerer battling it out with Neil Goin. Kaemmerer was to take a .115 light to Goin’s .039 light and work some sort of nitrous induced magic at the finish line stripe to pull off the victory.

The Commercial Safe and Lock motorcycle class was a matchup of former champions Scott Leonard and Janie Palm both riding their Hayabusa thrill rides. Leonard was able to take his eight second bike to victory lane to receive his prize.

The King of the Track this year was won by Davenport, Iowa motorcycle rider Tom Klemme. Klemme, whose race season does not start for another month up north always comes down to WWT Raceway for his April warm up. Mike Ratulowski, who was hot all day, was Klemme’s opponent in the finals. Despite having car issues, Ratulowski was able to give Klemme a great race but in the end, Klemme secured the victory.

Super Pro

Saturday Super Pro saw 2025 class champion Brian Spillars return to his championship form. Spillars took out former Million winner Greg Stesti. The win was extra sweet for champion Spillars who received his very first WWT Raceway win despite have won the track championship. It was just the icing on the cake for Spillars who has had a very successful last 12 months. He is not only a great champion but also a great friend. Spillars is starting out 2026 on a terror just like he ended 2025. Congratulations to champion Brian Spillars.

Sunday Super Pro was the day that Jason Grams had been dreaming of for a long time. In securing his Super Pro victory over Spencer Smith, Jason Grams absolutely wrecked the tree all day long. Jason’s reaction times were,.007,006,.008,.006,.008,.011 before capping all that off with a perfect .000 in the finals. Wow, I mean just wow!!! What a performance by Smoke. Incredible domination over the field. Congratulations to Jason as he was a one-man wrecking ball on Sunday.

Pro Class

Saturday Pro class 2025 Champion Tommy Barbero in his prized 1978 Malibu is picking up where he left off in 2025 winning the first race of the year over Jim Lovallo. Barbero is always easy to spot; Tommy is the first one in the left lane as soon as the call goes out for Pro Class to the lanes and everyone else in Pro forms a single line behind him. Now that is respect. Tommy beat arguably the best bracket racer in St. Louis history Tricky Ricky Thomas twice in one race. Using a .003 light in round one and a double breakout win over Thomas in round 4. That is an incredible feat in itself. Great win Tommy Barbero.

Sunday Pro Class finals saw Mike Ratulowski pick up the win over Richard Thomas III. Mike, who also fought his way to the finals of King of the Track race, was tough as nails all day despite a rear end issue with his car. Thomas was dead on his dial in with a zero in the finals in the Rich Miller Mustang but went red on the tree. Ratulowski was green as well as being on his dial in what would have been a great final race had both been green. Congratulations to Mike on your win.

VP Racing Lubricants Sportsman

VP Racing Lubricants Sportsman Saturday saw the return of Joe “Ponytail” Renaud and his famed red Camaro with the park bench rear wing defeat young racing sensation Cohen Hale. Joe was .003 to Cohen’s .026 reaction time in the double break out final to secure the victory for Joe. Joe could be seen shortly after the race waving the Happy Gilmore check to passersby’s out on Route 203 letting them know of the victory.  He had after all already let everyone at the track know. In all seriousness, congratulations Joe, great job on the tree.

VP Racing Lubricants Sportsman Sunday saw Steve Zeuner, the 2025 Sportsman Champion, return to victory. Steve defeated Joe “Ponytail” Renaud in the finals taking advantage of a Zeuner starting line advantage in the double breakout win for Zeuner. Zeuner is also the leader and mentor of the high school program. Thank you for all you do Steve and congratulations.

Commercial Safe and Lock Super Pro MX

Commercial Safe and Lock Super Pro MX Saturday saw Mark Abrams in the final defeating 2025 Champion Darnell Dickerson. Abrams had been super consistent all day on his motorcycle despite the 25-mph cross and head wind all day and the 46-degree weather. Great job Mark.

Commercial Safe and Lock Super Pro MX Sunday turned out to be a double-up win for Iowa native Tom Klemme. Klemme took advantage of a Jonna Jenkins red light in the final to claim the win. Klemme as mentioned earlier was able to win the King of the Track honors shortly after this race. Congratulations to Tom Klemme on your strong performance.

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr. Thunder

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr.Thunder Saturday had Greyson Hopley in the finals against Logan Bonney. Logan, despite a reaction advantage of over .200 on the starting line broke out to give the win to Greyson in Saturday’s finals. Congratulations to both competitors.

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr. Thunder Sunday saw the first win of the year go to young Brayden Hearn. “Wild Man” used a .003 starting line reaction time to defeat Logan Bonney in Sunday’s Final.

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr. Lightning

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr. Lightning Saturday finals featured former champion Cohen Hale vs Karson Elkins. Elkins was behind on the reaction time .033 to Hale’s .012 light but managed to put the Jr. dead on with a three to Hale’s two over the dial in a very tight race. Congratulations to Karson on your victory.

E-Ticket Motorsports Jr. Lightning Sunday seemed to be more of the same. The final round saw Karson Elkins again only this time the opponent was Cayden Duel. The results were the same Karson this time took the starting line advantage and propelled that to the victory killing eight numbers at the stripe to secure the victory. Congratulations to Karson on your double up first race weekend of the year!!

Jr. Street

Jr. Street finals featured an amazing final round… Jacob Phillps took on Tyler Kuehnel for the final. Jacob Phillips was .013 on the tree and was also thirteen thousandths behind as Kuehnel was perfect on the tree. At the stripe Phillips was .021 over his dial-in to take out the perfect light and to claim the first victory of the year. Congratulations to Jacob.

High School

High School Saturday saw Cohen Hale with a familiar opponent as Cohen took on Karson Elkins. Cohen was able to use his starting line advantage to go down track and kill ET and claim the bracket race one win over Karson. Congratulations Cohen.

High School Sunday saw Leila Thomas in her beautiful blue Camaro in the finals against Ryan Stephens. In the double red light affair, Leila was able to bring home the hardware for the Thomas family. Congratulations to Leila on your great victory.
