September 1, 2020, St. Louis Region – The numbers are in: A significantly-larger group of television viewers tuned in to last weekend’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at WWTR over 2019. The stats were released earlier today by NBC Sports’ public relations Twitter account.
Last year, WWTR hosted a single INDYCAR event, the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and it attracted 315,000 viewers.
On Saturday, WWTR hosted its first of two, 200-lap Bommarito Automotive Group 500s and 450,000 people watched Scott Dixon become the 11th different winner in 11 WWTR races, up 43% from 2019’s numbers.
On Sunday, WWTR’s second Bommarito Automotive Group 500 – won by Josef Newgarden – drew 551,000 viewers, up 75% over 2019.
