Alton student Nadja Kapetanovich to sing national anthem and “God Bless America” during Bommarito 500 Weekend

July 28, 2022, St. Louis – Nadja Kapetanovich will sing the national anthem and “God Bless America” at World Wide Technology Raceway during the NTT INDYCAR SERIES Bommarito Automotive Group 500 Weekend.

On Friday, August 19, the 15-year-old Alton High School student will sing “God Bless America” prior to the start of NTT INDYCAR SERIES qualifying. Later in the evening, she will sing the national anthem prior to the start of the USAC Silver Crown race.

She is active in plays and musicals around the St Louis area. She enjoys dance, piano and singing, and plays on the AHS tennis team. For Kapetanovich, this is a return to WWTR’s main stage. She previously sang the national anthem at oval track events and the NHRA Midwest Nationals at the speedway.

Bringing the St. Louis region to the world: Viewers from more than 200 countries will tune in to watch the Bommarito Automotive Group 500, the final oval track race on the 2022 NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule.

Two of American motorsports’ most recognizable names of all time – Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt – remain active in the sport today as team owners.

The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline has produced many memorable moments, including Takuma Sato’s thrilling win over Ed Carpenter – the closest finish in WWTR history (by 0.039 sec.) — in 2019.
