2021 WWTR Media, Photo Credential Request Guidelines

Updated: August 4, 2021

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO LOCAL MANDATES.

As of August 8, NASCAR has instituted an at-track indoor mask mandate, which includes the media center. If you are working in the media center, please bring a mask.

We are following the safety guidelines prescribed by INDYCAR and NASCAR officials. Media center access is extremely limited and many who have received media credentials in years past may not be able to obtain them this year.

Even if you have a NASCAR or INDYCAR media hard card, we ask that you request credentials for media center access so that we may accommodate you with an assigned workspace.

(Since the drivers’ meeting room only will be used for the INDYCAR driver meeting, we should be able to use this as overflow space for photographers and team p.r. members. This room has wifi, tables, chairs — and is located across the alley from the media center.)

Please do not arrive at the track on race day without credentials and expect to be admitted. Please do not come to the media center if you do not have credentials.

Last year, because of the pandemic, our media center was at 5% capacity. This year, we will be at 20%, so once again space is very limited. While we will make every effort to accommodate all media members, some may have to work remotely.

World Wide Technology Raceway grants media and photographer credentials (and parking passes) to individuals on assignment from recognized media outlets. All applications will be carefully screened. All requests must be received at least 14 days in advance of event to be considered.

Please furnish:

* Your full name

* email address

* cell phone number

* the media outlet you write and/or shoot for

Then email or mail your request to John Bisci, Director of Media Relations — jbisci@wwtraceway.com — P.O. Box 200, Madison, IL 62060

Please: No phone calls.

Verification: We also may ask for a credential request letter from the owner or editor of your outlet.

Reserved seating in the infield media center is limited and will be issued by priority and available space. Reserved seats are not guaranteed unless specified by Director of Media Relations.

Working media credentials will not be issued to employees in marketing, promotions, sales, advertising, public relations, etc.

Credentials and parking passes for NASCAR and INDYCAR events may be picked up at the Credentials Building across the street from the speedway. Days and hours of operation will be posted.

WWTR does not grant media credentials for our annual NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series national event (Midwest Nationals). To obtain credentials for NHRA national events, please contact Allie Bland at NHRA’s Communications Department.

IMPORTANT: If you request media credentials and do not pick them up, you may be refused media access in the future. If you requested credentials and are unable to come to the event for any reason, please contact John Bisci (jbisci@wwtraceway.com). This will release your seat in the media center to another media member and keep you in good standing with the track.

Limits may be imposed on media outlets requesting more than one credential.

Since space is limited in our media center, we may not be able to assign reserved seats for team public relations personnel, especially at our INDYCAR event.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

We are unable to grant credentials to freelance photographers (or hobbyists) who are not on assignment from a recognized media outlet.

Photo vest requests for NTT INDYCAR SERIES events at WWTR are forwarded to INDYCAR for their evaluation and approval. INDYCAR’s decision is final.

You must attend at least one of the scheduled and posted photo meetings in order to obtain a photo vest. No exceptions.

WWTR cannot grant photo credentials for our annual NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series national event. To obtain credentials for NHRA national events you must contact NHRA’s Communications Department.

TRACK RENTALS (Formula Drift, SCCA, NMRA, etc.)

If the event you wish to cover is a track rental, you must obtain permission and credentials from the company or group renting the track(s). WWTR does not issue photo vests or credentials for track rentals.
