2020 WWTR JR. DRAGSTER SERIES

WORLD WIDE TECHNOLOGY RACEWAY 2020 JR. DRAGSTER SERIES

 

The WWTR Jr. Drag Racing Championship Series will consist of nine (9) races. A participant’s eight (8) best finishes in the series will count toward the title.

 

CLASSES

Jr. Dragster Lightning – Ages 13 & older. Dial-in of 7.90 and slower.

Jr. Dragster Thunder – Ages 6-12. Dial-in of 8.90 and slower.

Saturday, April 11 – Race 1

Saturday, April 25 — Race 2

Saturday, June 6 — Race 3

Saturday, July 11 – Race 4 (night race)

Saturday, July 18 – Race 5 (with Super Chevy Show)

Saturday, July 25 – Race 6 (night race)

Saturday, August 1 – Race 7 (night race)

Saturday, September 5 – Race 8

Sunday, September 6 – Race 9 (runoff will be for Jr. Dragster Wally trophy)

 

The top five in overall championship points in each category will be recognized with year-end awards at the 2020 WWTR championship banquet.

 

Most races will feature 2 time trials followed by eliminations.

 

All competitors who compete in a Carl’s 4WD & Performance Bracket Series event will have their points tracked, however, to receive points and be eligible for D3 Junior Finals, the $60 Points Membership MUST be purchased. You only will receive the points for races after you sign up for points membership – they will not go retro-active.

 

Buy-backs will be held in 2020 in Jr. Dragster Lightning and Jr. Dragster Thunder races.  Buy-backs cost $20.

 

Management reserves the right to not offer buy-backs should weather or unforeseen circumstances dictate a change.

 

Trophies are awarded to the winner and runner-up in Jr. Lightning and Thunder.

 

The winners of Lightning and Thunder will race against one another for a cash award for winner and runner-up.  The cash run-off round will not earn additional points.

 

NOTE: Any five-year-olds wishing to make licensing runs or to get practice runs should contact Drag Strip Manager George Whitaker at George.Whitaker@wwtraceway.com or Brad Cannon at dragstriptower@wwtraceway.com and they will work you in accordingly.

 

Jr. Dragster Lightning & Jr. Dragster Thunder Cash Run-off: Winner receives $120. Runner-up earns $60.

Race day sponsorships are $150 for Jr. Dragsters with $30 added to cash run-off winner to bring total to $150, $40 to cash run-off runner-up to bring total to $100. Also, $40 will be awarded to the runners-up in each class on sponsored days only.  Please contact George Whitaker (George.Whitaker@wwtraceway.com) if you would like to sponsor a race day for the Jr. Dragster series.

9:30 a.m. – Gates open.

10:30 a.m. – Tech inspection (Lanes 7 & 8)

11 a.m. – Jr. Dragster time trials (2 runs, 30 minutes apart)

Noon – Time trials (2 runs)

Run order: Juniors, Trophy, Sportsman, Pro, Pro Motorcycle, Super Pro

2:30 p.m. – First round of eliminations (time approximate)

8:3 p.m. – Track closed (time approximate)

10 p.m. – Pits cleared (approximately 1 hour after race completed)
