100 Days Out to Primetime 10th Annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500

MADISON, Ill. (Feb. 27, 2026) – In just 100 days, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will return to World Wide Technology Raceway for a prime-time viewing of the fan-favorite 10th annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline on June 7.

The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season begins Sunday, March 1, on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, setting the stage for another competitive year leading into the 10th annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 in June.

Over the past decade, some of the greatest names in INDYCAR history have taken the checkered flag at the 1.25-mile oval in Madison, Illinois. Five different winners and more than 3,000 miles of racing have produced some of the series’ most exciting action.

History has continued to be made over the last decade as Team Penske has dominated the short oval, winning six of the 10 races, with Josef Newgarden taking the checkered flag in five of those victories. Newgarden has made his presence known on the oval as he has continued to lead and win the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 trophy.

During the 2025 race, Newgarden was involved in a heart-stopping crash after colliding with Louis Foster and flipping upside down. Although the incident ended his race, he remains the winningest driver at WWT Raceway.

The two-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion has only been beaten four other times at WWT Raceway, including twice by six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon. Both drivers went onto win their respective season titles after winning at WWT Raceway (Dixon 2020 and Newgarden 2017).

Ten years of racing, and 10 years of drivers who have had some of their greatest milestones at the 1.25-mile oval. In 2022, then-rookie David Malukas claimed his first podium alongside Team Penske’s Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin. The 2025 event marked Kyle Kirkwood’s first oval victory and Christian Rasmussen’s first podium.

The 2025 event also marked as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ first nationally televised prime-time event on FOX. Despite the schedule shift occurring just about a month before the green flag dropped on Father’s Day, the event drew a crowded venue and more than 1 million viewers.

The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 has remained a staple on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES over the last decade, as fans continue to support their drivers and teams at a fan-favorite venue. WWT Raceway continues to deliver non-stop entertainment with on- and off-track events.

Spectacular racing, non-stop action and endless entertainment continues to highlight race weekend at the Bommarito Automotive Group 500. Tickets for the 10th annual Bommarito Automotive Group 500 on June 7 are available for purchase at wwtraceway.com or by calling the ticket office at (618) 215-8888 ext. 1.
